Terms of Service

Last updated: 15 June 2026

These terms govern your use of Tabby, a utility expense-tracking assistant for WhatsApp groups operated by Magic Owls (“we”, “us”). By using Tabby you agree to these terms.

What Tabby does

Tabby helps groups track shared expenses. You add expenses in plain language in a WhatsApp group and Tabby records them and calculates balances and suggested settlements. Tabby is a convenience tool, not a payment processor, bank, or accounting service — it does not move money or provide financial advice.

Accuracy of balances

Tabby’s balances and settlement suggestions are based only on what group members tell it. Figures are provided “as is” for convenience; you are responsible for verifying amounts and for actually settling up between yourselves. We are not liable for disputes over who owes what.

Acceptable use

  • Use Tabby only for legitimate expense tracking.
  • Don’t attempt to misuse, overload, reverse-engineer, or disrupt the service.
  • Follow WhatsApp’s Business Policy and applicable laws.

WhatsApp & groups

Tabby operates through Meta’s WhatsApp Business Platform. Group messaging features, participant limits, and availability depend on Meta and may change. Tabby-created groups support a limited number of participants who join via an invite link.

Data & privacy

Our handling of your data, including pseudonymisation of phone numbers and our 30-day retention policy, is described in our Privacy Policy.

Availability

Tabby is provided on a best-effort basis and may be unavailable, changed, or discontinued at any time without notice. We do not guarantee that messages will always be delivered or processed.

Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tabby and Magic Owls are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the service. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.
